How does the NPC help Swedish Institute better serve its students and families?

We used to have the government template as our net price calculator, but it wasn’t very good and we had to spend so much time updating it each year that the amounts were always outdated. So prospective students couldn’t get a realistic idea as to what their education with us would cost and whether or not they could afford it. That’s so important for us at Swedish because the majority of our students are low-income. Now any student can use it and know pretty much what they will end up paying, and how much they will get in financial aid which makes everything a lot easier for them.

Why did Swedish Institute switch from its existing NPC and what has the difference been like?

Historically, private-for-profit institutions like Swedish have come under a lot of scrutiny around price transparency because of the bad actors in the space. But for us, we wanted to show that we care about making things easy and transparent for our students and Meadow helped us do that. Our old NPC was so outdated and Meadow gave us an opportunity to modernize it so that it could be not only more accurate, but also easier to read and use. Now the Net Price Calculator features all over our website and it’s another resource that our students can use.

How has your transition been from the existing NPC to Meadow?

It was smooth. We were juggling our annual audit process at the same time and Meadow worked with us to make it manageable. They were friendly, professional, and you can tell they care about their product and helping students. We had weekly meetings scheduled, which kept us updated throughout the process and they were always ready to answer any of our questions. I also appreciated that they sought out feedback and were receptive whenever we had any.

What is your favorite Meadow capability or feature?

The whole thing! The Net Price Calculator itself is an amazing tool in the way Meadow has designed it.
